Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss Donate $1.2 Million to Shielded Labs to Support Zcash

Zurich, Switzerland — Shielded Labs, a Swiss-based organization supporting the Zcash network, has received a generous donation of 3,221 ZEC (approximately $1.2 million) from Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss. The funds will support Shielded Labs’ key initiatives, including the Network Sustainability Mechanism (NSM), Crosslink, and Dynamic Fees, aimed at strengthening the security, sustainability, and scalability of Zcash.

Tyler and Cameron have long supported Zcash and its mission to create unstoppable private money. Through Gemini, they pioneered shielded Zcash withdrawals, including Orchard, Zcash’s most advanced privacy protocol, and launched the

Cypherpunk DAT to reinforce their commitment to cyberpunk principles and self-sovereign private money.

“A healthy Zcash ecosystem relies on independent organizations contributing at the protocol level. Shielded Labs plays a vital role, and we’re glad to support them,” said Tyler.
