Bitcoin Slips Below $88,000 Ahead of Fed Decision

Bitcoin fell below $88,000 on Sunday, continuing a weeklong decline as investors stayed cautious ahead of the U.S. Federal Reserve’s first interest rate decision of the year and ongoing political uncertainty in Washington.

The price of Bitcoin dropped to around $87,800, down about 2% in 24 hours. Other major cryptocurrencies also weakened, with Ether falling near $2,880, while Solana, XRP, and Cardano each declined between 3% and 5%.

Market sentiment remains fragile after more than $1 billion in leveraged crypto positions were liquidated recently. Traders are closely watching U.S. budget negotiations, potential Japanese yen intervention, and major tech company earnings, while the Fed is widely expected to keep interest rates unchanged.
