Bitcoin bull cycle is ‘far from over’ thanks to the halving — CryptoQuant research

Bitcoin's recent price drop to $60,000 from an all-time high of $73,835, termed as a "pre-halving retrace", precedes its next halving event due in less than a month. Despite this correction, research from CryptoQuant indicates the Bitcoin bull cycle is far from concluding. Analysis shows that only 48% of Bitcoin investment comes from short-term holders, contrasting with typical cycle peaks at 84%-92%. Furthermore, valuation metrics remain below past market tops, suggesting room for growth. CryptoQuant's findings, alongside the nearing halving event expected to cut miner rewards from 6.25 BTC to 3.125 BTC, support a bullish outlook. This cycle’s dynamics, influenced by the performance of spot Bitcoin ETFs since January 11, could differ significantly from past cycles. Standard Chartered Bank has revised its BTC price forecast for 2024 from $100,000 to $150,000, anticipating a cycle peak at $250,000 in 2025.
