While discussions at the recent Satoshi Roundtable indicate optimism around Bitcoin DeFi, it faces challenges, with only nine protocols listed and the Lightning Network representing 70% of the TVL. Bitcoin's brand strength and network effects position it well, but catching up with leading DeFi chains may take years.
