Russia Weighs Easing Crypto Rules

The Bank of Russia has confirmed ongoing talks with the Ministry of Finance about easing cryptocurrency regulations, signaling a possible shift in policy. Currently, access to crypto trading is limited to “highly qualified investors,” but officials are considering expanding participation to a broader group.  

First Deputy Governor Vladimir Chistyukhin emphasized that crypto assets could evolve into a “normal financial instrument” within Russia’s financial system. He added that the central bank aims to finalize its stance on digital assets by the end of the year, marking a potential turning point in the country’s regulatory approach.
