Sony Bank to Launch Dollar Stablecoin by 2026

Sony Bank is preparing to introduce a U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin in the United States as early as fiscal 2026. The planned digital currency will be integrated into Sony’s entertainment ecosystem, supporting transactions across its gaming, anime, and related platforms. The initiative underscores Sony’s ambition to expand its financial services into digital assets and enhance user engagement through seamless payment solutions.  

To advance the project, Sony Bank submitted an application for a U.S. banking license in October and will establish a dedicated subsidiary to oversee the stablecoin business. By aligning financial innovation with its entertainment offerings, Sony aims to strengthen its position in the global payments market and capture new opportunities in the evolving digital economy.
