Bloomberg: Hassett Now Top Fed Chair Candidate

Kevin Hassett, Director of the White House National Economic Council, has reportedly become the leading contender for President Donald Trump’s pick as the next Federal Reserve chair. Bloomberg notes that Hassett is seen as the candidate most in line with Trump’s push for lower interest rates, a priority the president has emphasized in shaping monetary policy.  

Earlier reports highlighted Hassett’s ties to the cryptocurrency industry, including his role as an adviser to Coinbase Global Inc. He is also said to hold at least $1 million worth of shares in the company, a detail that underscores his financial interests outside government service.
