Hougan: Bitcoin Growth Will Be Smoother

Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan told CNBC that Bitcoin’s future is shifting toward steadier, lower-volatility returns rather than the explosive gains seen in its early years. He explained that growing institutional adoption is helping stabilize prices, creating a more predictable investment environment for the decade ahead.  

While Hougan remains optimistic about Bitcoin’s performance in 2026, he cautioned that much of the regulatory progress fueling past rallies has already been priced in. As a result, investors should expect more moderate growth going forward, supported by sustained institutional demand rather than dramatic surges.
