ធនាគារកណ្តាលជប៉ុនបានដំឡើងអត្រាការប្រាក់គោលរបស់ខ្លួនដល់ ០,៧៥% ដែលជាកម្រិតខ្ពស់បំផុតក្នុងរយៈពេលបីទសវត្សរ៍។ លោក Kazuo Ueda អភិបាលបានប្រកាសពីការសម្រេចចិត្តជាឯកច្ឆន្ទរបស់ក្រុមប្រឹក្សាគោលនយោបាយ ដោយបានបញ្ជាក់ពីទំនុកចិត្តកាន់តែខ្លាំងឡើងលើទស្សនវិស័យសេដ្ឋកិច្ចរបស់ប្រទេសជប៉ុនជាហេតុផលនៃការផ្លាស់ប្តូរនេះ។

Japan Raises Benchmark Rate to 0.75%

The Bank of Japan has raised its benchmark interest rate to 0.75%, the highest level in three decades. Governor Kazuo Ueda announced the unanimous decision by the policy board, highlighting stronger confidence in Japan’s economic outlook as the reason for the move.  

Despite the hike, the yen slipped to around 156 per dollar shortly after the announcement, showing that markets had already anticipated the increase and priced it in. The step marks a significant shift in Japan’s monetary stance after years of ultra-low rates.
