Nabiullina: Bitcoin Mining Bolsters Ruble

Russian central bank governor Elvira Nabiullina noted that Bitcoin mining may be helping to strengthen the ruble, though its exact impact is difficult to measure because much of the activity remains in a regulatory gray zone. She described mining as an additional factor supporting the currency.  

At the same time, the central bank is working with the Ministry of Finance and anti-money-laundering agencies on crypto regulation. Future trading is expected to be conducted through licensed institutions, signaling tighter oversight of the sector.
