Bitcoin Outlook Trimmed as Investors Pivot to AI, Gold

Galaxy Digital’s head of research, Alex Thorn, told CNBC that Bitcoin’s early-year optimism has cooled as investor attention shifts toward booming sectors such as artificial intelligence, nuclear energy, quantum technology, and gold. This diversion has temporarily slowed momentum in the cryptocurrency market.  

Despite these headwinds, Thorn emphasized his continued long-term confidence in Bitcoin’s potential. However, reflecting current market dynamics, he revised the firm’s year-end price target downward from $185,000 to $120,000, signaling tempered expectations while maintaining a positive outlook for the future.
