Visa Launches Stablecoin Payments

Visa has announced that it is expanding its U.S. payments network to support stablecoin settlement, marking a significant step in integrating blockchain technology into mainstream financial services. The move allows U.S. financial institutions to settle transactions using Circle’s USD Coin (USDC), a dollar-pegged stablecoin, on the Solana blockchain.  

Cross River Bank and Lead Bank are among the first to adopt the service, signaling growing institutional interest in blockchain-based settlement. Visa’s initiative highlights the company’s push to modernize payment infrastructure and provide faster, more efficient transaction options through digital assets.
