VanEck: Miner Capitulation Hints Bitcoin Bottom

VanEck’s latest report highlights that Bitcoin miner “capitulation” may signal a near-term price bottom. The firm pointed to a 4% drop in Bitcoin’s hashrate over the past month ending Dec. 15, the steepest monthly decline since April 2024, suggesting stress among miners.  

Historically, VanEck noted that when hashrate falls over a 30‑day period, Bitcoin prices have risen within the following 90 days about 65% of the time. This pattern positions miner weakness as a contrarian bullish indicator, hinting that current network declines could precede a rebound.
