Polygon's Testnet Platform Welcomes Circle's Stablecoin

Circle, the renowned stablecoin issuer, has announced an expansion of support for its USDC stablecoin to the Polygon PoS Amoy testnet, targeting developer facilitation. This move, announced via Circle's official X social media account, is set to begin on the 27th of this month and will extend until the 30th of the next month. The inclusion of USDC on the Polygon PoS Amoy testnet marks a significant development, with new addresses being added to Circle's CCTP on the launch date. Concurrently, support for the attestation API on Polygon PoS Mumbai will cease post-migration, and the Faucet will no longer support USDC tokens on Polygon PoS Mumbai. However, users will be able to obtain USDC tokens on the Polygon PoS Amoy testnet. Circle also highlighted that Circle Mint addresses for deposits will appear on the 27th, cautioning that transferring USDC coins to these addresses before the specified date could result in funds loss. Despite these changes, existing USDC balances will remain unaffected. Support for programmable wallets will shift to Polygon PoS Amoy on the 27th of March, withdrawing from Polygon PoS Mumbai on April 11th. Moreover, API access to the smart contract platform on Polygon PoS Amoy will be available from the 27th of this month.
